2027 Astrology Calendar: Every Key Date of the Year

Bookmark this page. Every retrograde, eclipse, station and ingress of 2027 in chronological order — with what each one means and how to use it.

The short version: 2027’s turning points are Mars retrograde (January 10 – April 1), an annular solar eclipse in Aquarius (February 6), three Mercury retrogrades, two Jupiter–Saturn trines (April 3 and July 11), Jupiter’s move into Virgo (July 26) and the total solar eclipse in Leo (August 2). There is no Venus retrograde all year, and Jupiter’s ingress is the only planetary sign change of 2027.

2027 Eclipses at a Glance

Three of the five land on the Leo–Aquarius axis, because the lunar nodes sit there for the whole of 2027. That is what gives the year its shape: a February beginning in Aquarius, an August ending in Leo, and an August 17 echo that tells you which of the two the year actually chose.

Which Dates Actually Matter

Not every entry above deserves equal attention. Ranked by how much of the year they explain: July 26 (Jupiter into Virgo) resets the second half; August 2 (total solar eclipse in Leo) is the single most consequential day of 2027; January 10 – April 1 (Mars retrograde) explains why the year feels slow before it feels fast; and April 3 and July 11 (Jupiter trine Saturn) are the two days worth building something on.

Where These Dates Come From

Every date on this page was cross-checked against at least two independent sources before publication: Cafe Astrology’s 2027 ephemeris and aspect tables for planetary stations and ingresses, NASA’s Goddard eclipse catalogue and timeanddate.com for eclipse timing, magnitude and path, and astro-seek and Hermetikon for retrograde degrees. Where sources disagreed by a day — usually because one publishes in Eastern Time and the other in UTC — the UTC date is given. Minor aspects that appeared in only one source were left off this page entirely.

2027 Calendar FAQ

When is Mercury retrograde in 2027?
Three times: February 9 to March 3, from 5°59′ Pisces back to 20°55′ Aquarius; June 10 to July 4, from 6°22′ Cancer back to 27°28′ Gemini; and October 7 to 28, from 4°55′ Scorpio back to 19°18′ Libra. Double-check contracts, back up devices and pad travel plans in those windows.
Is there a Mars retrograde in 2027?
Yes, and it is the first thing that happens. Mars stations retrograde on January 10 at 10°26′ Virgo, backs into Leo on February 21, and turns direct on April 1 at 20°55′ Leo — 82 days in total. It is the reason the first quarter of 2027 feels slower than the calendar suggests it should.
What is the most important astrology event of 2027?
The total solar eclipse of August 2 at 9°55′ Leo. It delivers 6 minutes 23 seconds of totality — the longest visible from land until 2114 — along a path crossing North Africa and Arabia, with Luxor in Egypt at the point of maximum duration. Because it falls on the South Node it reads astrologically as a completion rather than a beginning. Jupiter’s move into Virgo a week earlier, on July 26, is the second most consequential.
Is there a Venus retrograde in 2027?
No. Venus stays direct for all of 2027 — the first completely clear year since 2025. The previous retrograde ran October 3 to November 13, 2026, and the next begins in May 2028.
